Financial Associate (Level II)
Valley National’s Entry Level Professional (ELP) program is designed to hire a select group of Associates who can be immediately integrated into Valley National’s expanding “one-stop” financial planning business model. Ideal candidates are professionals with some industry experience in accounting or finance, who are looking to establish a long-term financial services career in the Lehigh Valley area.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Financial Planning, preferred.
  • Series 7 and 66 or 63/65 licensed, or immediate ability/desire to obtain licensing.
  • CPA licensed or Enrolled Agent, a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of experience working in financial services with a goal of taking on client relationships with a senior level advisor OR
  • 3-5 years of experience working in an accounting or CPA firm and have an interest in learning investment management and financial planning.
  • Strong interest or experience in personal wealth management and financial planning.
  • Experience working directly with clients and comfortable being part of a client servicing organization.
  • The ability to multitask and work on numerous projects at the same time. A proven track record of accomplishment is required.
  • Excellent technological skills including Microsoft office, with a strong emphasis in Excel. The ability to learn various investment/CRM systems.
  • Strong desire to earn a professional designation and focus on education during their career. These requirements will need to be balanced with full-time work responsibilities.
  • Desire to work for a mid-sized, privately owned company that is in the process of expanding.
  • Energetic and eager to learn from a group of expert advisors and tenured staff members.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work and resolve issues independently.
  • Clean criminal record and subject to FINRA fingerprinting and registration.

Tax Season Internship
Valley National Financial Advisors is seeking interns with a sharp attention to detail and an interest in gaining hands-on experience at a busy financial services office during tax season.

Duties will include scanning, validation, data entry, and processing. Additionally, interns will have opportunities to assist with special projects supporting the firm’s other services with mentorship from financial advisors.

Full-time and part-time hours are available, starting December 2018/January 2019 in our Bethlehem office. Our team will provide detailed software and systems training, as well as education about all parts of the tax planning and return preparation process.
